OUR HISTORY

The Lavender Project begins its history

Through an invitation from the San Antonio Alliance Organization based in Albuquerque New Mexico, U.S.A. (Founded in 1999), with the purpose of helping communities in extreme poverty in Central America and part of Mexico.

Thorughout 18 years, the Lavender Project has aimed to be a Social Model company committed to making a real difference in the lives of people in our community and on the planet we share. Since our inception, our goals have been aligned with our vision of positive change and the proactive action of our collaborators. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue our mission.

Our raison d'Γͺtre

It is a noble cause and our mission is clear: To positively impact our community where we live by creating jobs, sustaining our families, improving our community through the development of alternative and sustainable agricultural processes, using responsible business practices. From addressing social challenges to driving innovation and creativity, every action we take is designed to generate tangible and lasting results.

Throughout our years of presence in the market, we have achieved significant successes that demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, a productive project of 3 hectares of lavender cultivation free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, maintaining 15 permanent jobs, of which 12 are women mothers and 3 men and a significant economic spillover in our community. Therefore, the social, economic and environmental impact of our project has left a tangible mark on the lives of our collaborators.

Now more than ever, we need your support in the purchase of our products.

With purpose to continue our work, with your generosity, we will be able to continue to keep our women employed, develop new programs and deepen our impact in the community.

By purchasing our products, you are not only supporting a sustainable project, but you will also be part of the change we so desperately need in our communities and our planet; together we can achieve incredible things and leave a legacy of hope, transformation and sustainability.

Thank you for your consideration and for making a continued positive impact possible through your support.

In 2005

We faced one of the worst droughts due to low rainfall and high temperatures. A visit made the difference, broadened the agricultural panorama and we were proposed to cultivate something more suitable for our lands; due to the warm and moderately dry climate of our community La Colorada, they made the cultivation of lavender one of the best options for our region, adapting to the agro-climatic characteristics of the same.

In 2006

During the months of June and July, co-founder Aucencio Domenzain MartΓnez was supported with training in the production, reproduction, variety identification, distillation, dehydration and benefits of this crop. The training was held at Valley View Lavender Farm in Buhl, Idaho, USA.

From that moment on, it was determined that a social model agro-industrial project dedicated to the cultivation of lavender to obtain its essential oil would be initiated, and it was then that The Lavender Project was born.
